ST LOUIS RV SHOW FEBRUARY 19-22
(Saint Louis, MO) –February 19-22, 2009
The 32nd Annual RV Vacation & Travel & Show will take place at
America's Center, in downtown St. Louis.
The event is promoted by the Midwest Gateway RV
Dealers Association, based in St. Louis, and composed of RV
dealerships from Illinois and Missouri, located in the St. Louis
region.
Show chairman, Glenn Thomas, of Bill Thomas Camper Sales in
Wentzville, Missouri, expects at least 400 of the latest in
recreation vehicles to be on display. In addition, there will be RV
parts available, accessories, campgrounds, resorts, destinations and
a great variety of other products.
Visitors to the show will be able to register at each of six
participating tourism departments to win “Great Getaway” packages.
These include getaways to Hannibal, Missouri; Southernmost Illinois;
Arkansas Delta Byways; Wyoming Tourism; Shawnee, Oklahoma; and Lake
of the Ozarks Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Show visitors will be entertained by the appearance of the “Dream
Camper” and its hosts, Boots & Britches. This vintage 1923 Ford
camper includes all the amenities necessary to the times. Water
barrels, ice clamps, lanterns and exercise equipment consisting of a
pick, shovel and a saw! There's also a pot-bellied stove, bunk bed
and … well, you just have to see it to believe it! Boots & Britches
will also bring smiles with their humorous songs and stories.
On Saturday night, National “Open” Fiddle Champion George Portz and
his Friends of Bluegrass will present their “Legends” show from 7-9
PM. The Friends of Bluegrass are one of the most versatile
performing groups in the region as they blend their fiery bluegrass
roots with fine, traditional Irish and Cajun music. They will take
the RV show crowd into the hills of Kentucky and Tennessee with the
songs of Bill Monroe, Lester Flatt, Roy Acuff, Earl Scruggs and
Charlie Daniels
